Indoor Mile Series Print E-mail

The 2010 Indoor Mile Series is over. 2010 was a record-breaking year for the Indoor Mile Series. Every meet saw Club records broken and rebroken. Visit the Indoor Mile Records page and you'll see how many Series records are held by this year's participants. And that doesn't tell the story, because the women's record was broken three times!

The Nittany Valley Running Club will again hold an Indoor Mile series in conjunction with four Penn State Indoor Track Meets. The Indoor Miles will be the first event at each of the meets, which are held at the Horace Ashenfelter III Multi-Sport Facility. The Series is open to all members of the Nittany Valley Running Club except students high school age or younger (due to NCAA recruiting rules). To become a member, go to http://nvrun.com/index.php/club/membership.You can sign also up for NVRC membership at each meet. Bring the membership form.

The Indoor Mile Series Is free. The Club will make a donation to the PSU Track and Field Booster Club. If you'd like to add to that donation, bring a few dollars.

In order to be on the roster for a particular meet, you must contact Jerry Steffy at run2k1@juno.com by the Wednesday before the meet. Please give Jerry an idea of your expected finishing time so that he can organize heats. Sign up early! There will be absolutely no race day sign-ups for any of the meets!

The Indoor Mile series is a great way to keep your speed training on schedule during the long winter months. The races give you goals to shoot for. We generally get a wide range of ages, experience, and talent, with times in any race ranging from under 4:30 to over 8:00. So don't by shy!
