Seventy-five runners took to the mountain switchbacks of Laurel Run Road for an uphill 5K and its mirror image back down under sunny skies and cool temps. Tanya Rissmiller, of State College, led the women and slivered 19 seconds off the 3-year-old course record set by Anna Kobb. Alan Effrig was the first man across. Special kudos to Mike Renz, who did the up and down not once but THREE times (the second of those with the rest of the group). Thanks to Jennifer Hinkle, Stacy and Diane, representing Girls on the Run of Happy Valley, for wonderful help with the water station at the top, finish line, and even photos. A tip of the hat to our series sponsor, Subway, for tasty party subs that were quickly devoured.
