The weather fortunately cooperated for the return of the Sue Crowe Memorial Arts Festival Races. It was great to get these races going again and see new and old faces at a new location and a new course. This year’s rendition featured a 5K and a 10-mile race.

In a photo-finish, Drew Kogelman inched out his brother Will and Jigar Gosalia to claim the 5K win with a time of 16:12. Erica Frees was the Women’s 5K winner with a time of 19:47.

The 10-mile race rolled through the hills of Linden Hall. Loc O took home the 10-mile crown with a time of 57:28, holding a large gap over second place runner AJ Kelly who crossed in 59:05. Liz Wright came through in 1:07:23 to win the Women’s 10-mile race.

Meira Minard then lead the 1/2 mile and 1/4 mile races around the Military Museum paths. The races were complete with post-race popsicles.

No race is complete without volunteers. Thank you to numerous volunteers who helped the day run smoothly. I know I may be missing some but thank you to Matthew Machovec, Marc Counterman, Baylee Balogh, Matt Balogh, and William Peck for pre-race packet pickup; Michael Goldfine, Jodi Patterson, and Julianna Barry for helping with registration; Marvin Hall, Andrew Maguire and Ted Kitchener for being at turns on the course; Marty Mazur for being our trail vehicle on the course; Marty Klanchar for running points on the course and helping with turns and course direction; The Bike Roost for providing our lead bike and trail bike; Nittany Track & Field, Jessie Beers-Altman, Marcie Rockey, Chad Rockey, Gary Wiser, Lesley Duffus, Emily Schuster, and Alex Koehl for working water stations; Wendy Davidson, Stuart Selber and Erin Connolly for helping with set up at the finish line; Jayson Jackson and Josh Cone for being all over the place from registration to the end and helping in numerous places wherever needed; Meira Minard and Carole for organizing the Kids Races and Dave Eggler for timing the Kids Races.
