Here are the minutes of the February 2 meeting of the Nittany Valley Running Club. We had a board meeting before the main meeting. The officers in attendance were Dave Eggler, Marty Klanchar, and Marty Mazur. Tara Murray and Amy Blake could not make it.

In addition to the officers and race directors, Jake Clements and family, Kim Gasper and son, Dave DeGroote, and NVRC newcomer Lisa Bierlein, were present for the regular meeting. Marty Mazur announced that the recent showing of a movie at the State Theatre, "Run Free - The True Story of Caballo Blanco”, which the NVRC helped bring to town, netted the Club $500 from ticket receipts and a raffle at the showing. Marty Mazur also had a Club banner made for the movie which can be used at Club owned races. We really need a new director for the Arts Fest Races for 2017. Dave Eggler will not be directing after this year’s race and would like to be able to train a replacement this year. Finally, Tara Murray and Jaimie Wright, who are directing the Club’s Marathoners For Medicine effort, are looking for runners to participate in marathons, half-marathons, and ultras this Spring to raise money for Centre Volunteers in Medicine. We’ll be getting more information on the web site in the next few days. There wasn’t much else to discuss, so the rest of the meeting was spent in conversation over pizza and beer.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 5.
