Membership Meeting

Club officers present: Amy Blake (president), Dave Eggler (treasurer), Marty Mazur (communications director), Tara Murray (secretary/archivist), Marty Klanchar (membership director). Others present: Cheryl Capone, Jake and Sarah Clements, Mike Casper, John Iceland, Carl Miller, Katrina D'Anca, Paula and Tom Jech, Jayson Jackson

Nittany Valley Half Marathon. Katrina gave an update on the race. 75 people are signed up, which is consistent with this time in previous years. This year the race is offering optional finisher medals for $10 and about 25% of registrants have ordered them. Katrina will order extras to have enough for this year. The year will only be on the ribbons, which are inexpenisve and can be ordered separately, so extra medals can be used for future races. Cheryl offered to do race day registration as she has in the past. Wegman's and Weis are both donating food. Anthym is donating something for the race bags. Mike will assist with securing Subway sponsorship for the sandwiches. Volunteers are needed!

NVRC Boalsburg Turkey Trot. Jayson said some registrations are coming in and everything is set for the race.

NVRC Give 'Em 5! Run for Veterans. Tara distributed registration forms for this year's race.

Special award. The club presented Marty Mazur with a special award: a plaque with a piece of the old Penn State track, which is being replaced. The plaque reads:

To Marty Mazur (a.k.a. Bwana) for tirelessly calling track workouts for the NVRC’s Thursday Trackers on this very track for 20 some years and for outlasting it. August 20, 2016
