Rothrock State Forest

Recent mild temps were conspicuously absent as a cold snap and sunny skies greeted runners eager to angle at the switchbacks of Lauren Run Road. There was a dusting of snow on the route to make the run festive and the footing a little less precarious than usual.

Patrick Singletary glided to overall victory, with Meira Minard second overall and first woman. Dan Barker and Drew Funk were second and third men. Carole Dudukovich was not far behind Minard, and Tari Elkin was the third woman.

As has become a tradition, there were several “repeat” up-and-down participants. Dan Coughlin, Costas Maranas, Seth Senior, Bob Shafer, Brian Thiede and Mike Zimmerman did the route three times (twice before the official start) and Meira Minard and Carole Dudukovich did it twice.

Thanks to series sponsor Subway Restaurants for the party sub, which was handily consumed by participants under blue skies at the finish line.

Those who run Tussey Teasers #1 through #5 (February’s Teaser #0 was a bonus) will be eligible for a special prize drawing that will take place after Teaser #5, the Eager Seeger Half Marathon.
